The Dawson City International Short Film Festival will feature a program of the following family-friendly NFB shorts as part of its ‘For The Kids’ screening on March 30:

The Girl With the Red Beret (2023)

A girl takes a ride on the Montreal metro, which becomes the unlikely venue for a strange and wonderful musical journey.

Arctic Song (2021)

Arctic Song tells stories of how the land, sea and sky came to be in beautifully rendered animation. Telling traditional Inuit tales from the Iglulik region of Nunavut through song, the film revitalizes ancient knowledge and shares it with future generations.

100 Miles (2022)

Are we there yet? When the kids act up in the back seat, a family road trip gets knocked hilariously off course.

Hedgehog’s Home (2017)

Exquisitely directed by Eva Cvijanović and based on the classic story by Branko Ćopić, a writer from the former Yugoslavia, Hedgehog’s Home is a warm and universal tale for young and old that reminds us there truly is no place like home.

The Mountain of SGaana

The Mountain of SGaana spins a magical tale of a young man who is stolen away to the spirit world, and the young woman who rescues him. Haida filmmaker Christopher Auchter’s dream-like gem brilliantly entwines traditional animation with formal elements of Haida art, which are brought to life by a rich, evocative palette and stylized effects.
