Celebrate Canada Day with a screening of Indigenous short films presented with the City of Richmond Hill at Richmond Green Park. This curated program highlights powerful stories of creativity, identity and stewardship from First Nations and Inuit perspectives. On the program:

I Can Make Art – Like Andrew Qappik by Jane Churchill (2005, 11 min) : This short documentary is a portrait of Andrew Qappik, a world-renowned Inuit printmaker from Pangnirtung, Nunavut.

Aboriginality (Dominique Keller & Tom Jackson, 2007, 5 min) : Follow Dallas Arcand, an urban youth, as he heads down the mystical Red Road to re-connect with new and traditional elements of First Nations culture.

The Lake Winnipeg Project by Kevin Settee | Poplar River (Kevin Settee, 2021, 10 min) : This film explores Poplar River First Nation’s intergenerational responsibility of protecting the lands and waters in their territory for generations to come.
