About the In The Closet Series (Ajahnis Charley, 6 episodes – Available June 2026)
Figuring out who you are is messy—especially when the world is telling you you’re “not non-binary enough.” In this equally hilarious and heartwarming docu-series, comedian and host Ajahnis Charley raids their enby besties’ closets looking to affirm both their identity and their hotness.
Ajahnis is joined by iconic comedian Bren D’Souza and enables their use of psychedelics—psychedelic prints, that is. Actor Amanda Cordner challenges Ajahnis to a dance-off, and improviser to the stars D.J. Mausner breaks down their upscale-playful-masculine-sleazy style. Creator Meg MacKay brings dress-up back, and Drag Queen extraordinaire Chelazon Leroux explores the deeper meaning behind their iconic red dress.
Clothing will be swapped, laughs will be had and tears will be shed. That’s tears, not tears—no clothing was harmed in the making of this show!
“This closet is built to represent non-binary stories and identities as expressed through clothing.” -Ajahnis Charley, Director.

In its role as a national public distributor and producer, the NFB provides access to most of its film collection at no cost if your event is free of charge or by donation (with free option). Screenings of the In The Closet series must be free to attend, as licensing does not allow paid admission. The organizer is responsible for covering the cost of the venue rental, staffing requirements (if any) and printing promotional materials. The NFB is responsible solely for providing film files and promotional resources. If requested, the NFB can facilitate contact with filmmakers for potential Q&A sessions, but paying honorariums is the responsibility of the event organizer.
As a federal agency, the NFB has an obligation to remain impartial. Therefore, you cannot organize a paid screening of our films as part of a fundraising event. However, you may hold a free public screening and, if you wish, invite attendees to make an optional donation to a cause. This can include a pay-what-you-can approach, as long as the donation is voluntary and not a condition for entry.
Community screenings can take place almost anywhere! Consider hosting a screening at your local community centre or recreation centre, at your workplace, at an art gallery or museum, a public library, school gymnasium, church hall, Royal Canadian Legion Hall or rental space run by a community service org such as the Eagles, Lions or local Benevolent Society. You could also look into partnering with a local festival or event, or creating a workshop or lunch-and-learn session in your workplace. We can help you find the best solution for your screening needs.
