The NFB and the Sommets du cinéma d’animation invite you to an Artist Talk by Duncan Major

Based in St. John’s, Duncan Major is an artist, poet and designer with an interest in the offbeat. At 13, Duncan’s apprenticeship with artist Tara Bryan sparked a lifelong passion for letterpress printing. In her memory, he created Imprint, a poetic, handmade animated film celebrating their bond and the enduring influence of mentorship.

During this talk, Duncan will discuss creating vibrant, hand-printed animation, blending evocative imagery and a beautifully crafted soundtrack. Imprint reminds us that art is not just what we make, but also the impact we have on the lives of those who follow in our footsteps.

*This talk will be given in English.
