Vancouver Public Library – Central Library
350 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6B 6B1
As part of THE NFB IN LIBRARIES programming, the Central Library of the Vancouver Public Library will present A Return to Memory to highlight International Women’s Day.
A Return to Memory a film by Donald McWilliams (2024 | 116 minutes)
When Canada entered World War II, the National Film Board suddenly had an urgent new mission—and hundreds of women stepped forward, helping to create Canadian cinema as we now know it.
After the screening there will be a Q&A with Michelle van Beusekom, who had the original idea for the film and contributed to the film. Michelle previously served as the NFB’s Executive Director of English language production studios, and is the current CEO of the Knowledge Network.
