 at 1:30pm\n\nA compelling call for justice\, Stolen Time follows charismat
 ic elder rights lawyer Melissa Miller as she takes on the corporate for-pr
 ofit nursing-home industry—an industry notorious for its lack of transpa
 rency and accountability. Her adversaries stand accused of neglecting thei
 r vulnerable charges as they reap huge profits. As the legal battle unfold
 s\, we witness surprising testimonies and images from families\, researche
 rs\, advocates and\, most notably\, frontline caregivers whose work is oft
 en undervalued but disproportionately blamed for what goes wrong. The film
  is a rare inside look at a legal battle and an emerging elder justice mov
 ement with ramifications —and inspiration—for us all.\n\n-------------

 Q&amp\;A featuring writer/director Helene Klodawsky\, researcher Dr. Amy T
 . Hsu and advocate Bonnie Schroeder\, moderated by journalist Mohammed Ada
 m\, and presented in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.\n\nSt
 olen Time is presented by the National Film Board of Canada and Intuitive 
 Pictures\, in collaboration with Library and Archives Canada.\n\nPlease no

 e discussion and Q&amp\;A will be held in English.\n\nPanelists\n\nIndepen
 dent filmmaker Helene Klodawsky is a passionate storyteller committed to p
 ortraying political and social struggles\, as well as to exploring the doc
 umentary art form. Her work\, spanning over thirty-five years\, includes p
 ast films The Invisible\, Everywhere (2019)\, From Janet With Love (2017)\
 , Grassroots in Dry Lands (2015) and Come Worry With Us! (2013). A graduat
 e of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design\, Klodawsky is a member of 
 the Documentary Organization of Canada\, the Writer’s Guild\, Film Fatal
 es and Réalisatrices Équitables. She lives in Montreal.\n\nDr. Amy T. Hs
 u\, Ph.D.\, is an Investigator at the Bruyère Research Institute and a Le
 cturer in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa. H
 er research focuses on understanding the care needs of older adults across
  the continuum of care\, from home care to end of life. Recently\, she led
  the development of a national report examining the impact of COVID-19 on 
 residents in Canadian long-term care homes. She also represents Canada in 
 a collaborative project led by the International Long-term Care Policy Net
 work that aims to compile worldwide data on COVID-19 in LTC homes.\n\nBonn
 ie Schroeder\, MSW\, RSW\, is a Director with The Council on Aging of Otta
 wa\, an organization working to advance the wellbeing of the city’s olde
 r adults through advocacy\, education\, research\, and planning. As a regi
 stered social worker\, Bonnie brings more than 25 years of experience deve
 loping and evaluating community programs for older adults and their caregi
 vers. During the early days of the pandemic\, Bonnie supported the Long-te
 rm Care Sub-Committee of the COA as well as co-chaired the Long-term Care 
 Working Group of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.\n\nModerated b
 y Mohammed Adam\, a journalist and commentator. Mohammed worked as a jour
 nalist in Ghana and the United Kingdom before joining the Ottawa Citizen\,
  where he worked for 25 years as a senior reporter and member of the edito
 rial board. He has written extensively about issues concerning long-term c
 are\, Now retired\, Mohammed writes a weekly column on city and provincial
