 nt and the Institute for Gender and the Economy will show the following fi

 ell: Inuk Teacher (Heather Campbell | 15 min | 2023)\n\nTo Heather Campbel
 l\, her grandmother Evelyn was a teacher\, a matriarch and a beloved famil
 y member\, but to everyone else in the small community of Rigolet\, Labrad
 or\, she was a force of nature otherwise known as Miss Campbell.\n\nAs a t
 railblazer for an Inuit-led educational system\, Evelyn was the only teach
 er in a one-room school\, teaching grades K–12. Although she had inherit
 ed the methodologies of earlier educators\, her motivation was entirely di
 fferent. In a career that spanned more than 35 years\, she embraced her In
 uit heritage and passed on her passion for learning through music and stor
 ies. In 1986\, Evelyn Campbell was awarded the Order of Canada.\n\nPart or
 al history and part visual poem\, Miss Campbell: Inuk Teacher combines H
 eather’s exquisite water colour paintings of narwals\, polar bears\, sea
 ls and birds with home movies\, family photos and lively animation to capt
 ure the spirit of this extraordinary woman for her documentary portrait.\n
