Award-winning directors Nova Ami and Velcrow Ripper we ave together immersive on-the-ground footage with first-person accounts fr om Indigenous Elders\, first responders\, and ordinary people forced to re act to a rapidly evolving ecosystem. As climate change continues to escal ate\, full suppression measures have largely failed\, leading to bigger\, more intense mega-fires. But there is another way. Indigenous knowledge ke epers explain that the First Nations people traditionally used controlled burns to regenerate the land. Her current work explores themes of climate e mergency and environment\, focusing on the perspectives of women and diver se communities. Recent projects include Metamorphosis\, with Velcrow Rippe r\, a theatrical feature documentary which explores the theme of change in this time of climate crisis\, described as “breathtaking” by the Toro nto Star.\n\nVELCROW RIPPER creates powerful\, cinematic feature documenta ries that deal with the central issues of our times. His collaborations wi th Nova Ami include Metamorphosis\, the web series Living With Dying\, an d the upcoming Planet 911 (a Knowledge Original\, in post-production).
