DESCRIPTION:As part of THE NFB IN LIBRARIES programming\, the Chilliwack Li
 brary will present Hebron Relocation to highlight the National Day for Tru
 th and Reconciliation.\n\nHebron Relocation |Holly Andersen | 2023 | 15 m
 in\n\nFilmmaker Holly Andersen of Makkovik\, Nunatsiavut\, always knew tha
 t the house she lives in carries within its frame the echoes of the forced
  displacement of northern Labrador Inuit. In Hebron Relocation\, Anderse
 n explores what makes a place a home as she speaks with friends and family
  about how the relocation impacted generations of Labrador Inuit.\n\nAnder
 sen’s house was one of many homes across Labrador hastily built for inco
 ming northern Inuit relocatees. In 1959\, residents of the community of He
 bron were told that\, without question\, they would be divided up and relo
 cated to more southerly communities across Labrador. Most families were no
 t prepared for such a drastic change and left everything they knew behind.
 \n\nWeaving together intimate stories from her community with rare footage
  that gives us a glimpse of community life during this upheaval\, Andersen
  provides a heartfelt look at a difficult past that has changed the lives
