DESCRIPTION:The NFB and the Sommets du cinéma d’animation are pleased to
  invite you to an Artist’s Talk by Hayat Najm\nHayat Najm is a Lebanese-
 born visual artist and animation filmmaker based in Montreal.\n\nHayat des
 cribes her artistic exploration as “visual poetry.” She uses charcoal 
 drawing\, her favourite medium\, as a means of expressing inner worlds and
  experiences directly on paper.\n\nDuring this one-hour talk\, the filmmak
 er will be discussing the creative process behind her first animated short
 \, produced by the National Film Board of Canada. A film about the resilie
 nce of women\, The Sounds of Things Ablaze features a female protagonist w
 ho relives the horrors of a war that continues to haunt her every day.\n\n
